With a heavy heart, I am sorry to announce the passing of Vivian Hislop.

Vivian was a 20 year employee of OHC, she retired in December of 2020 and passed away on September 21, 2021.

She was the Occupational Health Nurse at Analog in Wilmington from 1982 until she joined OHC in 2001.

She helped educated many nurses as an instructor at Beverly Hospital School of Nursing.

She was the past president of Mass Occupational Health Nurses Association.

Vivian always saw the bright side of life and will be missed.

Vivian B. Hislop, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in her home, in Wenham; where she was a longtime resident. Born in Beverly she was the daughter of the late William E. SR and Beatrice (Manthon) Whitney.
Vivian graduated from Beverly High School, then St. Anselm College where she earned her nursing degree and at Salem State College for her Masters. Vivian was very active in the community, she served as a Trustee of the Topsfield Fair, a longtime member of the Essex County Beekeepers Association and many other local associations. She was a huge sports fan and could be heard by her neighbors “coaching” the Patriots every Sunday afternoon during the season. As a nurse she taught for many years at Beverly Hospital, as well as working as a surgical nurse, she then went on to a Career as an occupational health nurse; where she served as President of the Occupational Health Nurses Association for more than a decade. Retiring just last year in 2020 Vivian worked as a Registered nurse for more than 70 years on the North Shore and surrounding areas. Vivian loved gardening and could usually be found tending to her flowers, traveling as she had been to nearly all 50 states in her RV. She was happiest when surrounded by friends and family and thrived in the chaos of a full house of loved ones.
Vivian is survived by her two sons, Adam Whitney of Walton, IN, Daniel Whitney of Bristol, RI; six nieces and nephews, Linda Collins and her husband Henry of Reading, PA, Theresa Paige and her husband David of Reading, PA, Lisa Wojciechowski and her husband Brian of Reading, PA, Harry Scott Maurer of Reading, PA, Wayne Whitney of Fl, Debbie Whitney of, NH; and four grandchildren, Logan, Brooke, Devin and Arianne Whitney. She was preceded in death by her Husband Donald D. Hislop, and longtime partner Chester Soundis.
