OHC was Kellie White RN first nursing job!!!! It gives me great pleasure to introduce Occupational Health Nursing to a new generation of nurses!
Here is Kellie’s story:
Hello everyone! My name is Kellie and I have been a nurse for about a year now! I was not one of those people who always knew they wanted to be a nurse. For the longest time I thought I wanted to be a physical therapist. I went to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2017. After that I pursued what I thought was my dream profession and attended a DPT program in Portland Maine. It was quickly that I learned physical therapy was not for me. Nursing was a profession that always appealed to me but I didn’t realize how much I would truly love being a nurse until I started my accelerated nursing program. Now I know there is nothing else in the world I would rather be doing. I earned my BSN in 2019 from University of New England in Portland Maine and became a RN shortly after that.
OHC was my first nursing job! I feel very grateful to have started my nursing career here. Like many people I was nervous starting my first job as an RN but Nancy and all of my coworkers at OHC welcomed me with open arms and made me feel comfortable instantly. Since I have started this per diem job, I have worked at flu shot clinics and covid screening locations. I also work full time at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a postpartum RN.
For fun I love to travel, hike, read and snowboard 🙂
