Francis Sabas RN joined OHC this year!
Francis has been doing covid related stuff at Insulet & Advancia Aeronautics. He is a pleasure to work with.
Here is Francis story:
I am a new nurse originally from California who graduated in 2020 and am currently working as a nurse at Occupational Health Connections (OHC) and at a Cardiac Telemetry/Neuro unit at a local hospital Additionally, I am currently a full-time graduate student in order to obtain my Doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner upon graduation.
I chose nursing as a field because of life experiences that include caring for my mother for several months in the hospital after she underwent a major open-heart surgery that entailed an extremely high mortality rate. This profound experience introduced me to the career of nursing and ultimately as a surgical nurse practitioner. As a future surgical nurse practitioner, I intend to provide excellent care for those who feel most vulnerable during the stages that encompass the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phase, similar to what the nurse practitioners did for my mother.
At OHC, I work at Advancia Aeronautica providing free and accessible COVID-19 testing to the community of Lynn. Additionally, I work at the Insulet Corporation Headquarters in Acton, MA by screening employees for cases of COVID-19.
For fun especially when it gets warmer, I like to surf, scuba dive, and go hiking with friends. I also love to stay in shape by going to my local Crossfit gym. I hope to explore of New England this summer!
