Barbara Giordani RN, COHN, CCM joined OHC last fall but our paths have crossed for much longer!
Barbara brings a wealth of knowledge including case management and utilization review.
She is a snowbird – traveling to Florida for the winters. We are glad she is part of OHC when she is back in Massachusetts. Insulet was excited to have her back.
Here is Barbara’s story:
At the age of 40, with 3 sons, twins age 9 and my oldest 10- I decided to return to nursing school!
My family was very supportive – I found myself to be the oldest student in my class – most of my fellow classmates were 18 a few turned 19 during our first semester! I made it through nursing school and passed my boards!
I began my career as a new grad working nights on a med surg floor – I knew right away I was too old for this back breaking work. After that hospital experience- I was fortunate to be hired by a large Boston Insurance Company. I worked there over 12 years before I found an occupational health company that was doing medical surveillance. I went on to become certified in occupational health nursing and case management.
I have NO regrets – going back to Nursing school was one of the best decisions I made.
At age 70 now- I am still actively working in occupational health through Occupational Health Connections!
